Uneducated Enthusiasm

“Deception has many forms. Just because it appears to be right,  doesn’t mean that it is not wrong.

We are all guilty at some point of becoming overly excited about something or someone when we have not obtained all of the facts. From jobs to relationships or anything new, we get excited.

When we encounter new people or situations in our life, it may appear to be total perfection. Perhaps it all seems to fit so well. It may seem to be exactly what we have waited for or what we need at the time.

When we get excited like that it is time to search for the facts, and just slow down the pace. If we do not, we are merely suffering from uneducated enthusiasm.

We can not rush into decisions because when we do, we are often headed for a disaster. It is far more important to make decisions slowly and with wisdom, than to do it in a rush and have the relationship or situation end in total disgust.

Banana Ice Cream Pie

A local grocery store chain had introduced a limited edition ice cream that I had fallen in love with. After a three-month love affair, Kroger pulled their banana cream pie ice cream and replaced it with carrot cake instead. I was devastated. It left me with no other option than to get creative in the kitchen. For this recipe you will need:

2 Cups of milk

1 3/4 cups of sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon vanilla

4 cups of whipping cream

1 box of instant banana pudding mix

2 cups half & half

3 mashed ripe bananas

Directions:

Scald milk until bubbles begin to form around the edge of the pan. Remove from heat, then add sugar and salt. Stir until they are dissolved. Next; stir in half & half, vanilla, pudding mix, and whipping cream. Add mashed bananas and nuts if desired.

I used a Nila Wafer ready-made pie crust to pour the ice cream mixture into. After pouring in the mixture, I put the lid on the pie and froze it for 12 hours. If you are in a hurry you can use an ice cream maker and then spread the ice cream over the pie crust. To garnish add chopped walnuts, chocolate syrup, and fresh mint.

This dessert will be a hit for all occasions. The taste is out of this world!

Speed

We have measured the speed of light

We have measured the speed of sound

The measurement of darkness is so quick

It leaves us breathless on the ground.

We measure the speed of love

All speeds of which are real

This new love in my life

Has really made me feel

At any speed, love is still love

And my love to you I give

So glad we didn’t let measurements interfere

Baby, it’s time to live!
