Bridges Crossed – Bridges Burned

Some bridges are there for the view and others are meant to be crossed. No bridges should ever be burned. Burning them prevents us from crossing them again someday, and we never know when that time will come.

Instead of burning them, build beside the old bridge and create a new way. The other bridge can be the blueprint for building the new bridge. Not to mention, by leaving the old bridge in place it is easier to see how far you have come.

Build them, instead of burning them. It not only looks better, but feels better too.

Spring Cleaning

Every spring we feel an urge to clean our physical world, particularly the interior and exterior of our homes. From spot free windows to clean closets and drawers, the annual spring cleaning inspires many. The end result of the cleaning, suddenly our homes feel light and airy again. Overall, life feels better when we are done.

Perhaps every year as we remove boxes of clutter from our lives, we should remove it from our spiritual self as well. As we wash the windows in our homes, we should wash the windows of our soul. Maybe they are no longer spot free, and that is why we are having a hard time seeing what is outside.

Whatever your case may be, it is important to tidy up our insides just as much as we tidy up what is outside. With all areas clean and organized we find a nice balance. Everything becomes manageable, and anything seems possible.

“As the birds sing each morning, you will find yourself singing too.

Now  let’s move along my friend, we have some cleaning to do!”

Traveling The Roads We Were Warned Of

quote about roads we travel and being warned

Sometimes we are warned but refuse to accept it. We hear it and see it but do not want to believe it. We get caught up in false hope and set ourselves up for a fall.

There is a reason people cross our paths and warn us. We shouldn’t take these warnings lightly. They come to help us and with good cause. Their knowledge although often overlooked could be the very knowledge that saves our life. Question is, what do you do with the information?

If you decide to proceed after having been warned; proceed with caution. The others who traveled before you, left that particular road for a reason. They do not warn you because they want to travel back down that road themselves. They warn you to prevent that pain being inflicted on anyone else.

What may appear to be a whisper or an annoyance from others who come to warn us while we are standing, becomes screaming and shouting as we travel further down that road and we wreck or fall down.

If you have traveled despite being warned, you may reach a point where you wish you would have listened. Or perhaps you may wish you would have asked a few more questions.  If that is the case,  try not to beat yourself up. Just be glad that you changed roads and there was an exit ramp right when you needed it.
